Airport departure tax (about $15) and a few meals not included as indicated

Tentative Itinerary
- Tue, May 22: Leave from CMH to PEK at 4:40 PM, crossing
the international dateline to arrive in Beijing on May 23 at 11:30 PM.
- Wed, May 23: Arrive in Beijing at 11:30 PM, change money
at airport, check into hotel, unpack, and sleep.
- May 24 - 28: Breakfast at hotel, lunch and dinners in
local restaurants, Beijing sights such as Tiananmen Square, Mao Mausoleum,
Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Silk factory, Tea Service, Lama Temple, Temple
of Heaven, Pearl Market, Jingshan Park, Hutong tour.
- Tue, May 29: Breakfast, leave for 3 nights in Chengde.
Hike Great Wall in Mutianyu, lunch, drive to Chengde, dinner.
- May 29-June 1: Breakfast at hotel, lunch and dinners in
local restaurants (Hebei Province (local specialties (do we dare try
scorpion?)). Summer Mountain Resort, Punning Temple, hike Sledge Hammer Peak,
Putuo Zongcheng Temple.
- Fri, June 1: Breakfast, drive to Beijing, lunch along
route, Ming Tombs. Leave on 9 PM sleeper train to Xian.
- June 2-6: Xian arriving at 8:30 AM (breakfast on your own).
Terracotta Warriors, City Wall, Bell tower, Goose Pagoda, Great Mosque,
Shaanxi Museum, shopping, and Muslim quarter. Hike Huashan Mountain.
- June 6 leave on 7 PM sleeper train to Beijing, arriving at
7:20 AM, June 7.
- Thur, June 7: Free Day (breakfast and lunch on your own) 6
PM - Peking duck dinner and Chinese Acrobats show
- Fri, June 8: Free Day (lunch and dinner on your own) 7
PM Kung Fu show
- Sat, June 9: Depart for Airport (pack breakfast for
yourself, nothing is open this early). Flight at 7:55 AM. Arrive in
Columbus 2:15 PM on June 9, 2012.

22 – July 6, 2012 - Cultural Tour 4 weeks in Hospital - 150 hours for AIAM
Students, 50 NCCAOM PDA points, 48 AMTA CE. Fly back to US on July 6,
arriving 7/6/12.
Study Tour Details:
Earn NCCAOM or AMTA Continuing Education,
or AIAM Acupuncture Observation or Clinical
Internship Hours.
Meals are estimated at $10/day. You arrange these
on your own.
AIAM arranges your internships and your hotel.
There will be some additional required travel and
entrance fees during the first two weeks of the study tour for expenses such
as the TCM History Museum, Herbal Market, Tai Ji Morning Exercises, TCM
bookstore, etc. These should be less than $25. You may also want to bring
small gifts of appreciation for the doctors you work with, but this is not
necessary.
2012 Dates to Remember
January 10: Registrations
due. Complete application and submit with $200 per person
registration fee to AIAM.
Check that your passport
is valid through August 2012 with at least 2 empty pages. US passports are
currently taking 4-6 weeks for processing.
Talk to your physician
about recommended vaccinations. If you don’t have a physician, Dr. Kristin
Oaks D.O., Family Practice in Worthington on High Street at 614-840-0961 is
excellent and affordable.

February 10: $500 non-refundable
payment due to AIAM. Deadline for submitting your visa application and
passport. For US Citizens, we submit all visa applications for
approval. Your original passport goes with the visa application to the
Chinese Embassy. Visa approvals are taking 4-6 weeks.
April 17: $1,600 Non-refundable
payment due to AIAM.
May 2: Remaining
balance due. Orientation 5:15 p.m. at AIAM. Review details, itinerary,
suggestions, and answer questions. Students will understand departmental
study options. Get packed, and get very excited!
May 22 Leave for
Beijing for Cultural and Study Tours.
